Knowledge about the nature and physiological role of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LH-RH) is rapidly evolving. There are many aspects of ongoing research, including the application of antagonists and antibodies and so on. The major advances are as follows: First, many antagonists have been developed by removing or replacing one or more amino acids on the decapeptide and their effects determined in vivo and ex vivo. A rapid and effective assay has also been developed.
