In this paper, a questionnaire survey (N = 302) was conducted on students in Jinan University (N = 302), focusing on the second digital divide of college students - the influencing factors of internet usage. The study found that the birthplace had a positive and significant impact on college students’ online time, that is, college students spent more time online than non-city students. Although their academic qualifications had a significant impact on college students, they were negative. That is, college students with lower education qualifications had access to the Internet The longer the time Internet use to meet demand motivation has a positive and significant impact on college students’ work-study-related Internet use index. In particular, emotional factors (attitudes toward the Internet and self-efficacy of the Internet) in the use of the Internet have a positive and significant impact on college students’ Internet use, including Internet access time and work-related Internet use indexes. However, parents’ education level, network professional knowledge level and traditional media use have no significant effect on internet usage level.
