PC companies now have difficulty supporting sustained revenue and profit growth. Imagine what a bad picture the PC market will look like if sales continue to grow. The traditional economic law has begun to play a role in the PC business. In a declining market, prices should be cut in order to maintain demand. In a healthy PC market, there is only a small gap between supply and demand, prices should remain stable, and even increase. But the PC market did not follow this way of working: PC prices have been falling. The question is whether the increased demand stimulated by the price cuts can make up for the declining revenue. This seems unlikely. For the ITPC market, e-commerce and the year 2000 take precedence over the purchase of new hardware, although the price of hardware is so cheap. In addition, it is clear to everyone that the cost of purchasing is only a small part of the total cost of ownership equation.
