As an important environmental index, magnetic susceptibility has been widely used in the restoration of climate and environment. This study shows that the low frequency magnetic susceptibility of the sediments in the southern Taklimakan Desert is more sensitive to the evolution of the environment in this region. Therefore, this paper takes the low frequency magnetic susceptibility as the leading indicator, combined with other geological records, to restore the paleoclimate environment in the Niya region The results show that in the last 40 years, the climate and environment of Niya are dominated by aridification. However, there are still several relative wet and dry fluctuations in the Niña region during the past 40 years. They experienced three relative humid periods and three relative dry periods. The paleo-climatic environment recovered from this is in good agreement with the results recovered from other environmental indicators, not only with distinctive regional characteristics but also with global consistency.
