爱国实业家、报业巨子史量才先生不仅是中国近代新闻事业企业化的开创者,也是一位杰出的社会活动家。他在组织与号召民众抵抗外来侵略,在参与赈灾和红十字会组织中,以及推动中国职业教育等方面都作出了重要的贡献,因而获得了社会各界的尊敬。期间,他与一批浦东籍人士有着广泛的交往,并结下了深厚的友谊,值得一书。 The patriotic industrialist and newspaper tycoon Professor Shi Changcai is not only the pioneer of the enterpriseization of journalism in modern China, but also an outstanding social activist. He has made great contributions in organizing and calling for people’s resistance to foreign aggression, participating in disaster relief and organization of the Red Cross, and promoting vocational education in China.
