This report presents the activities and some achievements made during the Uppsala Symposium. The draft of the report was circulated and discussed on the last day of the meeting, but the views referred to in it were not necessarily the views of each participant. This report focuses on trying to identify areas for progress in the seminar and makes suggestions for the future work of the earliest skeleton fossils. The conference brought together 52 representatives from 12 countries, all from the ground up, to attend the meeting, while the other four were only part time participants (see the list of participants). Most participants brought in fossil collectibles for discussion, including material that was provided voluntarily and materials brought about at the request of other participants or at the request of the organizers.
