Foucault believes that modern school is a disciplinary institution that organizes discipline education through organizing educational activities. The operation of power in the field of education aims at enabling students to reshape the ethical subject and become qualified members of the society. At Jane Loving Boarding School, all students live under strict discipline. The Victorian society regulated women’s educational content and Jane Eyre’s knowledge gained at boarding schools ensured her the job of finding a tutor in Victorian society. Knowledge enabled Jane Eyre to achieve the rewriting of her identity, thus making her economically self-reliant. The work gave her the dignity of being an individual, and the Victorians were always passionate about their work.
