1. 我期待奥运会的召开
Dialogue
A: I’m looking forward to the Olympic Games in Beijing.
我期待着北京奥运会的召开。
B: When do they begin? 什么时候召开?
A: On August 8， 2008. 2008年8月8日。
B: That’s o-eight， o-eight， o-eight. 那正好是08-08-08。
A: Yes， you’re right. 8 is a very lucky number for Chinese people.
对，你说得对。8是中国人的幸运数字。
B: So August 8， 2008 is a really good day to begin the Olympics!
所以在2008年8月8日召开奥运会是个好日子!
Notes:
If you are looking forward to something in the future， you can say: I’m looking forward to…如果你期待某事的发生，你可以说:I’m looking forward to…(我期待着……)例如:I’m looking forward to the Olympics in Beijing.(我期待着北京奥运会的召开。); I’m looking forward to the weekend. (我期待着这个周末。)
2. 你昨天看足球比赛了吗?
Dialogue
A: Did you watch the football match last night?
你昨晚看足球比赛了吗?
B: Yes， I watched it on television. It was a really exciting game.
是的，我是在电视上看的。比赛非常激烈。
A: I thought so too. I watched it with my friends and it was so
exciting. 我也这样认为。我和几个朋友一起看的，太激烈了。
B: When the score was 2-2， I didn’t know who would win.
当比分以2-2拉平时，我都不知道谁最终会赢。
A: And then they scored to make it 3-2! What a match!
然后比分又变成了3-2!太精彩了!
B: Yes， it was the most exciting game on TV for a long time.
是的，这是很久以来电视上最激烈的一场比赛。
Notes:
(1)You can begin questions about the past by starting with “Did…?”你可以用以Did开头的问句来询问过去发生的事情，Did…?例如:Did you watch the football match last night?(你昨晚看足球比赛了吗?)Yes， I watched…(是的，我看了……);Did you go to work yesterday?(你昨天上班了吗?)Yes， I went to…(是的，我去了……)
(2)If you want to say you agree with someone’s opinion about something in the past， you can say: I thought so too.
如果你想对某人过去某事的意见表示同意，你可以说I thought so too.(我也这样认为。)
3. 我要一本导游手册
Dialogue
A: Is there a good bookshop near here? 这附近有好的书店吗?
B: Yes， I know two bookshops near here， on Wangfujing Street.
有，我知道这附近有两家书店，在王府井大街上。
A: I’d like to buy some guide books to Beijing.
我想买几本北京导游手册。
B: No problem. I’ll take you there. 没问题，我带你去。
A: And maybe also a book to start learning Chinese.
也许我还会买本书开始学中文。
B: We can find that， too. They are good bookshops.
我们也会找到这样的书。那是很不错的书店。
Notes:
(1)Remember the words you use to describe location or position，记住用来描述地址或者位置的短语，如:near(在……的附近); Is there abookshop near here?(这附近有书店吗?) Is the restaurant near the hotel? (在饭店附近有餐馆吗?)
(2)Again， if you would like to do something， remember the phrase I would like to…or shorter version I’d like to…再重复一次，如果表达你想做某事，记住用短语I would like to…(我想……)或者用它的简略形式I’d like to…(我想……)例如:I’d like to buy some books. (我想买几本书。)
