二十世纪八十年代以来,中国历史进入新时期,画坛也出现新面貌,艺术创作迎来了宽松的、自由的大气候,工笔画以其开放的包容性向其他艺术门类借鉴吸收,用以充实自身,随着各种新工具、新材料、新观念和其他艺术门类的引入和借鉴,工笔画形成了一个多元的格局。现代工笔画家们对工笔画的创新进行了积极的探索,其价值是值得肯定的,但这其中也不免存在着令人担忧的问题。
