萧富元是台湾到大陆开设画廊的第一人,那时中国大陆是一个等待开发的新兴市场,早90年代初成立于台湾的索卡艺术中心成为台湾最早有系统代理大陆艺术家的画廊。2001年,萧富元把索卡带到北京,成为大陆地区站稳脚跟的重要画廊之一,进而又开拓了韩国的分馆。2006年开始,索卡艺术中心大力推介了多位东南亚艺术家的作品,作为商人,萧富元的触觉足够敏锐,同时他的推广能力同样出色。 Xiao Fuyuan was the first person in Taiwan to open a gallery to the mainland. As early as the early 1990s, Soka Art Center was established in Taiwan and became the first gallery in Taiwan to systematically represent mainland artists. In 2001, Xiao Fu Yuan brought Soka to Beijing and became one of the important galleries to gain a firm foothold in mainland China, opening up a branch in South Korea.
