薄荷为多年生草本植物，别名为苏薄荷。四川多数地区均能家种，主产于三台、中江、金堂等地。薄荷以全草入药，用于治疗风热感冒、头痛、咽喉痛、口舌生疮、风疹、麻疹、胸肋胀闷、抗早孕等。薄荷主要有效成份为薄荷油，薄荷油中含薄荷酮７７％～８７％，薄荷脑１０％ Peppermint is a perennial herb, alias for Spearmint.
