Objective To understand the sexual behaviors of people living with HIV / AIDS in Lanzhou and provide a scientific basis for the intervention strategies of AIDS patients and virus-infected persons in Lanzhou. Methods A non-probable sampling method was used to conduct one-to-one basic demographic and sexual behavioral questionnaire surveys on the confirmed HIV / AIDS patients who lived in the city from July to December in 2012 by cross-sectional retrospective survey. Results A total of 232 cases were surveyed. 63.79% (148/232) of the respondents reported having a fixed partner. In the recent 6 months after the diagnosis of HIV, 68.92% (102/148) reported having sexual partners with a fixed partner. Condom adherence The rate of condom use was significantly higher (χ2 = 30.426, P <0.05); the rate of condom use was 43.14% (44/102), the ratio of fixed sex partners before and after the diagnosis decreased significantly (χ2 = 24.788, P < % (63/232) of the respondents reported non-commercial non-fixed sexual partners, the last 6 months after diagnosis of HIV, 14.29% (9/63) reported non-commercial non-fixed sexual partners had sex, condoms insisted use (Χ2 = 37.852, P <0.05). Condom use was significantly increased (χ2 = 4.940, P <0.05), and the rate of condom use was significantly higher than that of non-commercial non-fixed sex partners (66.67%, 6/9) ; 21.98% (51/232) of the respondents reported having business partners; in the last 6 months after diagnosis of HIV, 47.06% (24/51) of the respondents reported having sex with business partners, condom insisted (Χ2 = 0.039, P> 0.05). There was no significant change in the rate of condom use (χ2 = 0.091, P> 0.05). Conclusion There is a high proportion of HIV / AIDS patients who have HIV / AIDS and condom use rate is low, so behavioral interventions should be strengthened.
