中之岛音乐塔是一座高200m的多功能复杂建筑,包含一重建的可容纳2 700个座位的音乐大厅以及一新闻公司总部办公区。为了在大空间的音乐大厅上建办公楼,采用了转换桁架体系。转换桁架体系由巨型桁架和带状桁架组成,用于承担其上部结构的所有荷载并将其转移到音乐大厅的外侧。另外,上部结构作为新闻公司总部办公楼,需要更高的抗震性能。为了使建筑物满足高水平的抗震设防标准,结构采用中间层隔震技术。
