Albert Foundation was established on March 2, 1925. From his own experience, German Social-Democracy leader Friedrich Albert, the president of the Weimar Republic, has deeply felt the need to create the conditions for working-class children to be given the right and the opportunity to be educated. For this reason he suggested setting up a foundation in his will. Shortly after the Foundation was founded, Hitler came to power, foundations were banned and members were persecuted. After the war, in 1945, the Albert Foundation resumed its work. As the situation progressed, personnel, work items and facilities were constantly being supplemented and perfected.
