Characterizing the Guider in Works is a major feature of the novel by Sol Bellow, and “Do not lose a good eternity” is an example. This article first analyzes the predicament representation of the hero Wilm, the strong lead of Dr. Tammojin, and the dominant function of the lead man, and then points out the implicit function of the lead man at the literary level. It reveals not only the 1950s The terrifying living conditions of the American Jews and the message that Bellow appealed to the Jews in the United States to affirm Jewish identity expressed Bellow’s urgency to establish the “pro-social” view of American Jews. The rebuttal of the New Perception Movement and Wasteland in the American literary world also proved Bellow’s positive and optimistic creative concept. It not only demonstrated Bellow’s persistent pursuit of humanistic thought, but also made Bellow a spokesman for Jewish intellectuals in New York at the time. Dr Tamkin’s leadership set the right course of action for the then American Jews.
