MCM, one of the DNA replication-permitting factors, consists of six conserved subunits that form a hexamer that expresses the activity of a replicative DNA helicase, which is involved in the regulation of DNA replication initiation during cell replication. Since its discovery in 1992, MCM molecules have been extensively and deeply studied in different fields of cell biology, genetics and protein molecular biology. On the one hand, it studies how MCM participates in the initiation of DNA replication and cell proliferation; on the other hand, On the one hand, MCM5protein expression can be used as a marker of tumor cells when it is abnormally proliferated.MCM5protein has become a kind of important molecule to study cell life process and diagnose tumor cells early.
