There have been previous reports of the effects of oral contraceptives (OCs) on carbohydrate metabolism. The report states that OC increases blood glucose and insulin levels in oral glucose tolerance tests in women taking medication. However, most of the OC used in these studies contained more than 50 μg of estrogen, and in recent years the use of OC with low doses of estrogen increased. Therefore, the authors investigated the effect of low-dose estrogen-containing OC on carbohydrate metabolism. Twelve women volunteered for the study. Their age was 22.5 ± 1.0 years (18-30 years) with an average of 0.2 ± 0.1 (0-2). All subjects were postpartum more than 8 weeks or disable steroidal contraceptives more than 3 months. Serving OC before the first 18 to 20 days for the mouth
