Objective: To observe the cost-effectiveness of the new dressing Kerraboot in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer. Methods: Twenty-eight patients with Wagner grade 2 diabetic foot ulcer were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 14 cases each. The patients in the observation group were treated with Kerraboot,. The observation group was treated for 4 weeks or wound healing. The control group was treated with traditional dressing such as gauze and bandage. Record patient wounds weekly and measure wound area. Compare the cost of two groups - treatment time, cost - the ratio of wound area, the average wound healing rate. Results: There were no significant differences in the total cost of hospitalization, cost / day, cost / area and wound surface / day between the two groups (P> 0.05). However, the length of stay in the observation group was shortened. Conclusion: Kerraboot treatment of diabetic foot ulcer cost-effective.
