In this article, I consider two types of error correction: the error of accuracy and the error of foolness. Describes how we use feedback to maintain the continuation of the conversation and contrasts this approach with what is often happening in the language class. It then describes the role of feedback in the conversation, giving examples of how to give feedback. Finally, a number of suggestions were made in class for feedback on fluency so that this aspect of learners’ language use could be developed.
