大白菜因具有柔嫩致密的叶球,可以鲜食,也可醃制、酸渍、干制,并耐贮藏和运输,可供晚秋、冬季及早春食用,为新疆各地主要蔬菜.随着自治区人口增加,大白菜播种面积日益扩大,但是以往因栽培技术不良而不包心,品质低劣,或遭软腐病危害而造成全园毁灭.因此大白菜的栽培技术,值得我们进一步探讨.石河子总场于1959年度播种大白菜2,500亩,总产14,855,000斤,平均亩产5,942斤.其中105亩丰产田,平均亩产13,000斤;1.4亩卫星田,平均亩产79,713斤.单株最大重量30斤,株高达80厘米,横径达40厘米.现将经验总结出来,供各生产单位参考.
