从语言发展的目的和人们学习语言的目的这两个方面而言,语言的全部功能是交际。语言交际功能传递的信息包含语言因素、文化因素和风格因素。这三者是充分理解语言和语言功能的关键。语言的功能是结构体现的,语言包括“积木”结构、事件句型和语篇三个语言应用的层级结构。一切语法现象只有从功能的角度才能得以阐释。语言的形式和功能匹配是语言的本质,其形式和意义由事件句型体现。任何一种民族语言都能表达相同的功能,功能比较才能揭示两种语言比较的本质。功能比较是翻译的基本方法,“形式与功能匹配”的功能模式是功能翻译理论的基本原则。以事件为核心的全新英语教学内容、教学模式和学习方法,是英语应用的“教”与“学”的最佳途径。
From the perspective of the purpose of language development and the purpose of people’s learning language, the full function of language is communication. The information conveyed by the language communication function includes language factors, cultural factors and style factors. These three are the key to fully understand the language and language functions. The language’s function is embodied in the structure, and the language includes the hierarchical structure of “building block ” structure, event patterns, and discourse. All grammatical phenomena can only be explained from a functional perspective. The form and function matching of language is the essence of language, and its form and meaning are reflected by the event sentence pattern. Any national language can express the same function, and the comparison of functions can reveal the essence of the comparison between the two languages. Functional comparison is the basic method of translation, and the function model of “form and function matching” is the basic principle of functional translation theory. The new English teaching content, teaching model and learning method with the event as the core are the best ways for English teaching to use “teaching” and “learning”.
