定位格架是压水堆燃料组件的重要部件,其设计优劣直接影响到反应堆的经济性和安全性。方形定位格架设计与研究历时八年之久,先后设计出几种结构形式的定位格架。热工、水力和力学等堆内外试验证明,其中一些结构形式的定位格架基本满足设计要求,在定位格架上方设置交混翼,使热工性能明显改善,与无交混翼格架相比,临界热流密度提高20%以上,这些定位格架均可以在工程上使用。
