自1980年代开始,台湾当代小说叙事所呈现的多样性和探索性成为台湾文学叙事演进的重要显现形态。其中,后设叙事以形成隐喻、诉说虚构的方式来实现叙事本身的自我意识,互文叙事在文本相互指涉的关系中形成了反悖和反思的叙事立场,迷宫叙事以“话语游戏”手法制造了独特的阅读感知和体验。在新叙事学的视阈里进行考察,后设叙事、互文叙事和迷宫叙事已成为台湾当代小说最为重要的三种叙事模式,同时它们所蕴含的个性化因素也在一定程度上彰显了台湾当代文学的独特品格和美学追求。
