China Hewlett-Packard Co., Ltd. announced recently that it has begun submitting samples of Small-form-factor (SFF) MT-RJ fiber optic transceivers to leading systems houses as its next-generation Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch and Transmitter System Part of the design. Samples include 850nm VCSEL and 1300nm Fabry-Perot MT-RJ fiber optic transceivers that are compliant with the IEEE 802.3z Gigabit Ethernet standard for 1000BaseSX and 1000BaseLX applications and are based on lasers. “HP has promised to offer a wide range of MT-RJ products, providing multi-state and single-state support for all industry standards with data rates up to 2.488Gb / s,” said Tian Zhengru, Sales Manager for China’s Hewlett-Packard Electronics Division.
