Objective: To investigate the changes and significance of Th17 cells and their related cytokines in peripheral blood of patients with gastric diseases infected by Helicobacter pylori (HP). Methods: Forty-eight patients with gastric diseases were selected. Divided into three groups according to digestive endoscopy results: 24 cases of peptic ulcer group, 12 cases of gastritis group, and 12 cases of non-infected HP group. The percentage of Th17 cells in peripheral blood of patients was detected by flow cytometry. The levels of Th17 cell-associated interleukin (IL) -17A, IL-21 and IL-23 in peripheral blood were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay Expression of transforming growth factor (TGF) -β. Results: The proportion of Th17 cells in patients with peptic ulcer and gastritis was significantly higher than that in patients without HP (P <0.05). The levels of cytokines (IL-17A, IL-23 and TGF-β) in patients with peptic ulcer and gastritis Significantly higher than those without HP (P <0.05). Conclusion: The changes of Th17 cells and their cytokines may play an important role in the pathogenesis of Helicobacter pylori-infected gastric diseases.
