Sex differences in blood pressure levels are a common manifestation of mammals, where the level of male blood pressure is higher when sex hormones are better than the female. Sex differences in blood pressure levels in humans lead to a higher prevalence of hypertension in men than in women before age 45, and in women after age 65 than men. The mechanism of gender differences in the regulation of blood pressure is not fully understood. The sex effect of sex hormones is the main factor that causes gender differences in blood pressure.
