According to the online report of CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians, the American Cancer Society (ACS) issued guidelines to support the screening of lung cancer in low-dose CT scans of some high-risk individuals, that is, with age 55-74 years, with at least 30 packs / Years of smoking history, smoking or smoking is still less than 15 years, the body is relatively healthy to discuss lung cancer screening. This guide provides recommendations on the eligibility criteria used in the National Lung Screening Test (NLST). As the balance between benefit and risk is not clear, screening for lung cancer is not currently recommended for younger or older people, shorter life-time exposure to tobacco, and more severe lung injury requiring oxygen inhalers. The authors acknowledge that clinicians need to exercise their discretion, if their risk approaches or exceeds one of the NLST eligibility criteria and does not meet other criteria. Because public or private insurance agencies rarely cover the first low-dose CT lung cancer screening, clinicians who decide to provide screening have a responsibility to help patients decide whether to accept it at their own expense
