Alice Walker, an African American woman writer, is a recognized feminist writer in the world who has become known as Toni Morrison. Her works truly reflect the misery of contemporary black women, praising their struggles in the face of adversity, self-improvement and charisma. Because black women suffer from both ethnic and gender oppression, they encounter different situations with white women in their pursuit of liberation and equality. As a result, Walker put forward the idea of “women’s doctrine.” According to Walker, women should express themselves in a positive way and save themselves by uniting the entire people, including men and women, for self-recovery. Walker’s assertions are concentrated in her masterpiece Purple.
