2002年7月,托普集团在诞生十周年之际郑重宣布,在全国一次性招聘5000名软件工程师!这一举动,是托普发展的确实需要,还是“不作秀、毋宁死”?是企业发展过程中的又一次跨越,还是高速车道上头脑发热后的狂妄举动?为了有核心技术的应用软件招聘简章显示,托普将招聘行业专家100人、技术管理人员400人、系统设计人员1500人、开发人员3000人,这些人才将在托普遍布全国的27个软件园区开展工作。另外,北京、上海、乌鲁木齐等地研发中心也将从这5000人中获得一定的份额。
