中医学认为,药食同源,食物用得适当也可以对疾病的恢复起很大作用。我们的祖先在这方面积累了丰富的经验,早在《黄帝内经》中就很重视饮食对人体健康的作用。它指出,五谷为养,五果为助,五畜为益,五蔬为充,简要地说明了饮食与健康的关系。《寿亲养老新书》说:人若能知其食性调而用之,则倍胜于药也。善治药者不如善治食。从现代医学观点来看,食疗确有补充人体营养物质,改善病人体质,提高病人抗病能力和防病治病的作用。
