At 1:47 on September 21, 1999, an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale hit central Taiwan. The epicenter was located at Jiji Town, Nantou County. More than 2,300 people were killed and more than 10,000 were injured in the quake. More than 100,000 people were left homeless. It is the largest and most destructive earthquake in Taiwan in a hundred years. The “September 21” large earthquake was the result of the nearly north-south Chekhang Po fault thrusting in central Taiwan. The geological phenomenon caused by the earthquake was very obvious. Except for a fault of about 80 km long formed by the earth’s surface, a considerable number of Ground fissures, landslides, spray sandblasting phenomenon. On October 5, we participated in the “Collaboration Study of Geosciences and Geosciences in Xinjiang” with the Academia Sinica and Taipei Central Research Institute, and went to Taipei for data and sample tests. Personally feel the strong shock of aftershocks of the “September 21” earthquake,
