The nonlinear oscillations observed on the surface of Cu Zn Al alloy are discussed. The observations and calculations show that the liquid-like oscillations of these micron-sized atomic cells have a characteristic of solitary wave motion. When the external excitation is strong, the oscillation can be maintained A long time; if the internal friction is strong, the amplitude of the atomic wave cell decays with time according to the law of e-kt. The theoretical calculation is in good agreement with the experiment.
