Helicobacter pylori (Hp) is a major causative agent of active gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. It has been reported that the induction of peripheral T cell immune tolerance is associated with cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4). The authors categorized 6-week-old female C57BL / 6 mice without specific pathogenicity into two groups. One group was immunized intraperitoneally with whole bacterial lysate (HpAg) of Hp Sydney strain (SS1) (no adjuvant, 100 μg once a week for three times).
