This paper deals with the sedimentology and depositional model for a shore to shallow lake shoal, which develOPed during the upper Sha-III Member of the Oligocenc Shahejic Formation (abbreviated as Es3u)according to analyses of core, thin sections, heavy minerals, well-logging and seismic reflections. Five microfacies, i.e., fore-shoal, outer shoal edge, shoal core, inner shoal edge, and back-shoal, have been recognized in this shore to shallow lake shoal. The sandbody and its petrophysics are the best with respect to reservoir Property. The shoal deposihonal environment was associated with storm deposits.
