灯在启动时应该从辉光放电状态尽快地转变到弧光放电状态。使用传统的1μs高压钠灯脉冲启动器倾向于使灯“拖延”在辉光放电状态,这种工作方式会严重影响灯的寿命和亮度保持。因此,美国GTE照明公司的科学家研究了降低实际“拖延”时间的启动系统。
The lamp should be switched from the glow discharge to the arc discharge as soon as it is started. The use of a conventional 1 μs high pressure sodium lamp pulse starter tends to “stall” the lamp in a glow discharge condition which can severely affect lamp life and brightness retention. As a result, scientists at GTE Lighting in the United States have studied a startup system that reduces the actual “stalling” time.
