The disputed oil field in the East China Sea has caused tension between China and Japan in recent years.The disputes involve issues such as sovereign claims over those of natural resources,maritime delimitation,and also involve other issues like Diaoyu Islands between China and Japan and the legal status of Okinawa Trough.The author compares the usage of different principles in the delimitation cases of international courts and tribunals to probe the possible tendency of the applicable rules,analyzes the outlines of different views to delimitate the maritime boundary between China and Japan,foresees the future of the disputes and provides possible prospect of solutions.
