首先阐述山东滕州市博物馆馆藏青铜器的特色和重要性,当前已腐蚀受损的严重性和抢救修复的必要性。通过对滕州市博物馆馆藏青铜器保护修复方案的编制和实践,系统论述我国青铜器传统修复工艺的发展历程,在保护历史文化遗产上所起的重要作用,传统修复工艺是中华民族的非物质文化遗产。现代科学保护技术引进青铜器修复领域,是以对文物材质的分析检测为文物修复和预防性保护的基础,将文物材料的成分、结构及劣化机理研究与文物修复工艺紧密结合,并逐步引进新技术、新材料、新工艺。传统修复工艺与现代科技结合的实质是传统修复工艺的发展。
