波氏块菌是一种经济价值较高的菌根食用菌。对波氏块菌与锥连栎合成菌根苗的技术进行了研究,结果显示,用波氏块菌孢子液接种锥连栎树苗后,第1个至第2个月可形成淡黄色、黄褐色外生菌根。外生菌根为单轴状、羽状和不规则分支状,单根菌根长0.35 mm~1.99 mm,直径为0.18 mm~0.29 mm。菌根延伸出外延菌丝,其外延菌丝为排列整齐的刚毛,呈半透明状。菌根老化后变暗褐或萎缩,外延菌丝呈透明、半透明、排列整齐的刚毛是波氏块菌与锥连栎形成的菌根最重要的形态特征。
