为了培养学生英语的实际应用能力,大学英语四、六级教学大纲要求考生在通过四级英语时应能掌握4500个单词,其中积极词汇为2000个。而通过六级考试则应掌握5500个单词,积极词汇为2500个。在英语短文写作这一主观题中,大纲还规定四、六级考生能就一般性话题或提纲在半小时内分别写出120词或160词的短文,内容基本完整,用词恰当,语篇连贯。其实,大纲要求学生所写的并不是什么长篇大论,而是像McDonald’s(麦当劳)的fast food一样,既简单实用又质量高成文快的短文。而这正是当代大学生必不可少的“快餐式”的通讯工作能力。要想掌握这种能力,首先应以语言应用能力为先,有意识地迅速培养自己的书面表达能力。
In order to cultivate the practical ability of students in English, the Syllabus IV and Syllabus of College English requires that candidates should master 4,500 words when they pass through Level 4 English, of which 2,000 are positive words. And pass the six exams should have 5500 words, 2500 active vocabulary. In the subjective question of English essay writing, the syllabus also stipulates that four or six level candidates can write 120 or 160 essays respectively within half an hour on general topics or syllabuses. To master this ability, first of all should be language skills first, consciously and rapidly develop their written ability.
