Its core concept emphasizes the process of mutual understanding between understanding and understanding. The basic theory of hermeneutics has an important influence on the comparative study of Chinese and Western historiography: It is of great significance to construct a subjective awareness of the comparison between Chinese and Western historiography, deepen the understanding of the same and different in the basic understanding of Chinese and Western historiography, and help to probe into the comparative rationality of Chinese and Western historiography. This paper argues that the study of hermeneutics and its deepening understanding are of great significance for exploring the theories and methods of comparative historiography between China and the West.
