The thermodynamic model was established for two kinds of two-stage compression cycles with expander (TCOP and TCDH), and the simulation was performed and compared with the performance of single-stage CO2 (SCE). Studies have shown that the COP of the TCOP cycle is 9% higher than that of the SCE cycle. At a given design point, the COP of the TCDH cycle increased 9.65% and 0.72%, respectively, over the SCE and TCOP cycles. TCDH cycling is a viable option if you consider the design and structure and take steps to control the operating conditions to prevent deviation from the design point.
