China’s cold storage uses rice husks as insulation material. Because it can be sourced locally, it is cheap and has good thermal insulation properties. However, it also has some deficiencies; First, it is difficult to purchase in some places and it needs to be purchased far away. In some places, the price of rice husk is not four or five yuan per cubic meter in the past, but a pound is more than a dime. Plus the cost of trains, automobiles, and sacks used for packaging, and some of the unilateral costs have reached more than ten yuan. Second, rice hulls are flammable materials. Because they need to be purchased and transported to the factory for storage before they are built, sometimes they are stored for months or longer, so that they are afraid of catching fire in addition to rain. Even if it is filled in the cold storage wall and inside the roof, the flammability of the cold storage is also a great weakness from the point of view of increasingly stringent requirements for the design of cold storage.
