It is reported that the New Zealand Environmental Protection Agency has approved the use of an antimicrobial kiwifruit kiwifruit kasugamycin to control kiwi bacterial peptic ulcer disease (PSA). The kasugamycin is sprayed directly on crops for disease control and was not allowed in New Zealand. ETEC Crops applied to the New Zealand Environmental Protection Agency in May 2013 for the import of kasugamycin from Japan for approval. However, in order to protect the health of consumers and the environment from harm, EPA requires users to be trained and licensed for special applications using soil and can not directly spray into the air, while also setting a strict dosage.
