松毛虫是为害松林的主要害虫,长期以来难以防治。利用卵寄生蜂防治松毛虫是生物防治的一条好途径。 江苏省松毛虫生物防治协作组,组织了科研、教学、生产等十二个单位的科技人员,开展了以松毛虫赤眼蜂防治马尾松毛虫,赤松毛虫的大面积示范。总计动用柞蚕茧近万公斤,培育松毛虫赤眼蜂约18亿头以上,防治示范面积七千余亩。大部分放蜂林区都起到了控制松毛虫为害的显著效果,所有放蜂区都不同程度地提高了林间松毛虫卵的寄生率。在放蜂林区,由于停用了飞机治虫,更新了部分成年纯松林为阔叶混交林,马尾松毛虫的发生逐年减轻。近十多年来未用药防治。在若干年后松干蚧虫与松材线虫的发病率都明显低于飞防区,至今林相清秀,长势喜人,充分体现了生物防治的长久的效应,生态条件得到了很好的保护,为生物防治的前景作出了良好的示范。
