In Le Kleinzio’s novel Desert, the living space of the desert represents the desert’s lifestyle and cultural traditions. The desert represented by Lara “blue-faced man ” was forced to flee the desert natural space into the urban space and become the marginalized person of the society, and could only survive in the “crack space”. However, Lala and Nur later chose to resist, to get rid of capitalist coloniality in urban space and consumerism alienation and return to the natural desert space. This kind of spatial narrative outlines the national imagination of the wanderers and embodies the utopian nature of the cultural self-identity of the disadvantaged groups.
