As an important part of Chinese traditional culture, calligraphy has distinctive oriental artistic features. For thousands of years, Chinese calligraphy has developed along the footsteps of history and has made brilliant achievements. However, since the eighties of the 20th century China has witnessed dramatic changes in social structure and economy, bringing with it changes in cultural forms, aesthetic orientations and values. In such an atmosphere, the development of calligraphy art has been greatly affected. Although some achievements have been made, the neglect of the role of culture because of excessive pursuit of short-term effects has caused the development of calligraphy into a labyrinth of cultural loss.
