Yb3 + has the simplest energy level structure compared with other rare earth ions, which makes it has some unique properties, such as avoiding the absorption of excited state, eliminating the up-conversion and concentration quenching, and so it is the ideal doping of high-energy output laser medium ion. Fluorophosphate glass combines the advantages of fluoride glass and phosphate glass, can reduce the phosphate phonon energy to improve its hygroscopicity; improve the physical and chemical properties of fluoride glass, which makes it a rare earth doped tunable fiber A good doping medium for lasers. Numerous studies have shown that Yb3 + -doped fluorine-phosphorus glass is a promising laser working substance. This paper summarizes the characteristics, properties, structure and existing problems of Yb3 + -doped FDP glass.
