With Japan’s “National Institute of Chinese Language” renamed the “Japanese Association” and its journal “Linguistics” replaced by “Japanese Studies”, brewing and lasted a long time renamed movement finally settled. The background of the change of name is the change of consciousness. In Japan, traditional societies such as the Institute of Linguistics, the Society of Mandarin Studies, the Japanese Language Education Society, etc., have some differences and connections with each other. Since the name of “Mandarin”, like “Chinese Literature” and “History of the Nation,” carries many different meanings from the Meiji era, Japanese studies related to this, that is, “traditional Chinese studies” And Japanese today at home and abroad thriving “Japanese Studies” are not the same characteristics of the study. This paper refers to the various Japanese-published reference books to sort out the concept of “Guoyu” and “Guoxue” in Japanese and the consciousness behind them, so as to distinguish and connect the so far “Japanese Studies” and “Chinese Studies” Some finishing, and hope that our Japanese academics can also broaden the scope of research, the Japanese study leads to comprehensive and in-depth.
