在鲁敏的小说里,我辨认出死亡。有时候,死亡被每个汉字、每个语词、每句话浓墨重彩地渲染着,声势浩大地宣誓着它对文本主题的所有权;有时候,它静静地趴在小说的空白处,像一个庞然巨兽,发出咻咻的气息;有时候,你以为摆脱了它,却在猝不及防的时候与它迎面相逢,并奇异地踏上了另外一条小路。可以说,死亡是鲁敏小说显在或潜在的主题、结构甚至信念。我有一种预感——如果不谈论死亡,我们可能对鲁敏一无所知。

It can be said that death is the obvious or potential theme, structure and even faith of the novel. I have a hunch - if you do not talk about death, we may know nothing about Lu Min.
