英国浪漫主义诗人雪莱在清末就已经进入了中国作家的视野。鲁迅在《摩罗诗力说》一文中重点突出了他“摩罗诗人”的一面;而苏曼殊在译介过程中推崇其作为“哲学家的恋爱者”的抒情诗人形象。鲁迅在面对雪莱等摩罗诗人时,将西方文化视为一种与中国四千年传统文明异质的东西以促进民族觉醒;而苏曼殊则是将西方文化与中国文化的相似性放置到旧有传统当中去,用传统来涵盖外来陌生文化,从而使外来文化内化为自己文化的一部分以达成本国文化的新生。
Shelley, a British romantic poet, entered the field of Chinese writers in the late Qing Dynasty. In the article “Mo Luo Shi Li Shuo”, Lu Xun emphasized his “Mo Luo poet” side; and Su Manshu respected his lyric poet as “the philosopher’s lover” in the process of translation and introduction. In the face of Shelley and other Moro poets, Lu Xun saw Western culture as a heterogeneous thing with China’s four thousand years of traditional civilization in order to promote national awakening; while Su Manshu placed similarities between Western culture and Chinese culture Go to the old traditions and traditionally cover foreign alien cultures so as to internalize alien cultures as part of their own culture in order to reach a new life in their own culture.
